You can use roasted turnips and celery roots instead of the pasta, and accommodate with your favorite pasta sauce, whether it is a cream sauce or a Bolognese. The result is strikingly satisfying!
They are perfect as a rice alternative as well with any curry.
You can also use turnips only or celery root only according to your taste.
Arrange the turnip and celery root on a baking sheet covered with aluminum foil. Sprinkle with 2 tablespoons olive oil. Season with salt and pepper. Broil for 10 minutes, rack in the middle of the oven. Add the garlic slices and broil for another 5 minutes. You want to have some charred areas as this gives the vegetables a delicious nutty flavor.
